Soutache.
Soutache is a narrow, flat braid in a herringbone pattern that can be used as an embellishment in bead embroidery, sewing or quilting projects.
In bead embroidery, soutache is typically stacked in layers on its edges instead of laying it flat.
The layers are stitched together, often around beads, cabochons and other embellishments, to create intricate patterns and shapes.
